Join hundreds of Shido-kan practitioners and supporters from around the globe. NTS is a great time to learn and train with old friends and make new friendships within the international Shido-kan learning community.

Training Sessions
NTS will be led by our head master teacher, Seikichi Iha, Hanshi, 10th Dan, along with Shido-kan Sensei’s and seniors from around the globe.
Throughout the training seminar weekend, you will have the opportunity to improve your knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of Shido-kan technique as well as your understanding of kata, kumite and one-on-one partnership drills and bunkai (group application of kata).
Youth may sign up to attend a Saturday-only afternoon seminar with Sensei Iha followed by the youth and teen kata tournament.
Kobudo bo sessions will also be included for members of the Ryukyu-Ocho Shurite Kobujutsu Association. Members of the Okinawa Japan branch of the Ryukyu-Ocho Shurite Kobujutsu Association, will be leading the sessions.
Who Should Attend?
There are training opportunities for all ranks and ages:
- Saturday-only afternoon youth seminar is for ages 4 -13;
- Saturday youth and teen kata tournament is for ages 4-19;
- Friday to Sunday adult seminars are for ages 14 and above.
Seminar sessions are designed so that anyone, no matter what rank or age, will benefit and learn. Most importantly, you'll have a chance to meet, train with, share information and renew contacts with fellow students and teachers from around the world.
Accommodations & Parking
NTS (including the summer Dan testing on Thursday, July 15) will once again be held at the Lexington Lansing Hotel and Conference Center which offers:
- Spacious, air-conditioned training areas in the ground floor conference center.
- Changing areas on the ground floor next to the seminar rooms.
- Easy access to lounge areas, pool, restaurant and hotel rooms during breaks.
- Double rooms at a reduced conference flat rate that can be split by multiple people.
- Delicious meals in the hotel restaurant. The hotel will also provide low cost "to go" items for breakfasts and lunches. There are other restaurants close to the hotel as well. (Saturday dinner and Sunday banquet are included in the "Adult Seminar and Events" conference rate.)
- Plenty of free, close parking.
- Family activity areas (pool, whirlpool, basketball court, game room, fitness room in hotel).
- Easy access by hotel shuttle and freeways to the airport and other Lansing locations.

Note that rooms must be booked directly through the Hotel. Conference fixed double room rates may be split between multiple occupants. Rate also applies for 4-days prior to and following the event. For visitors who wish to train at Iha Sensei's Original Okinawa Karate Lansing dojo the days before NTS, please check this site closer to the event for updates.
